Tough race to tenth for Kevin Horgmo in Indonesia

F&H Kawasaki Racing Team's Kevin Horgmo claimed tenth overall in the second Indonesian round of the FIM World MX2 Motocross Championship on the island of Lombok.

In both GP motos the Norwegian paid the penalty for a first-turn crash at the start of Qualifying on Saturday which had left him with a disadvantageous outside start-gate on race day. His KX250 hooked up well out of the gate each moto but the relatively short haul to turn one gave him little chance to get across to the apex of the turn and he was inevitably pushed wide to emerge outside the top-ten. A mistake before the end of the opening lap proved even more costly in race one and the lone Kawasaki faced a long hard ride back from fifteenth. By mid-moto he had broken into the top-ten and one final pass on lap thirteen of seventeen saw him take the chequered flag ninth. The effort in the tropical heat inevitably felt its presence in race two and a lonely ride to tenth secured the same ranking overall on the day to retain ninth in the championship standings as the series heads back to Europe.

Kevin Horgmo: "I'm really disappointed about today; I just wasn't riding like myself during either moto. I had a good feeling in the warm-up, but I couldn’t bring that to the races. I'm really sorry to the team and the people behind me that I couldn't reward their efforts."
